Wise Motels, Inc.

Wise Motels, Inc. is family owned and operated and has been in business for over 13 years in Atlantic, Iowa. The company operates several Super 8 Motels throughout Iowa. Like most medium sized businesses, Wise Motels is always on the lookout for ways to reduce operating expenses, particularly energy costs.

Energy Conservation Products (www.energyconservationproducts.net) is a manufacture representative company that provides energy related products designed to help customers operate their machinery more efficiently. Energy Conservation Products proposed a system that included the Utiliguard Power Quality System. These energy management products help protect the entire electrical system from the effect of damaging surges and harmful harmonic distortion that destroy and greatly shorten the life of valuable electrical equipment. Energy Conservation Products recommended that Wise Motels consider a lease as an alternative to finance the purchase of their Utiliguard Power Quality System. Initially, Energy Conservation Products submitted the lease application to a local lease company. Unfortunately for Wise Motels, the lease application was not approved. Energy Conservation Products then brought the lease application to DFI where we worked with the customer to find a creative alternative and got him approved.

DFI consulted with the management team at Wise Motels to better understand their business. DFI then proposed a lease arrangement that helped Wise Motels better manage their cash flow in such a way that best allows them to take full advantage of the guaranteed energy savings provided by the Utiliguard system.

Amen Packaging
Amen Packaging (www.amenpackaging.com) is family owned and operated and has been in business for over 25 years in the Denver area. The company supplies a multitude of packaging solutions - custom and stock - to customers in a variety of markets, including institutional food, industrial chemicals, agricultural chemicals, personal care, and pharmaceuticals. Amen Packaging is also the premier silk screener in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Amen Packaging was experiencing problems with their existing information technology systems, particularly the accounting software. The company could not take full advantage of software upgrades because the hardware and operating systems were not up to current technology standards.

QSE Technologies, Inc. (www.qsetech.com) proposed an entire system replacement with the latest Intel and Microsoft technology as the base platform for the most current version of Amen’s accounting software. For a small company like Amen Packaging an entire system replacement is an expense that would be tough to take on. QSE Technologies recommended that Amen Packaging consider leasing and brought DFI into the picture.

DFI worked with the management team at Amen Packaging to understand their business and based on their situation proposed several lease alternatives. Amen elected to purchase equipment through a lease that fit nicely within their cash flow parameters. When asked later why she chose DFI over another equipment lease provider, Amen’s President said that DFI listened to her and took interest in her business. She also commented on DFI’s willingness to work with her throughout the process and answer her questions about the alternatives presented.

This includes all types of office furniture systems, modular furniture systems, workstations, and cubicles. They also provide corporate moving services for office moves and office relocations. T. Michael Installation needed to upgrade their information technology systems and purchase vehicles in anticipation of a new contract to deliver and install cabinets sold through a very large building supply company. Initially, T. Michael Installation went to their local bank to secure a loan for this equipment. The bank would not approve their request and instead referred them to Dynamic Funding.

DFI separated the financing into two parts – one part for the technology equipment and the second part for the vehicles. DFI easily completed the lease for the technology equipment and is working with T. Michael Installation and other funding sources to secure financing for the vehicles. DFI demonstrated its ability to be a trusted resource for its referral partners – a local bank, in this case.
